Lie Down & Listen: Baroque Bliss, Friday 29 January & Saturday 30 January

Baroque Bliss comes to the beautiful Hallé St Peter's in Manchester this January, led by singer and sound healer Catarina Carvalho with special guest Toby Carr, one of the UK's leading theorbo and lute players.

The blissful Tibetan bowl sound healing and lying down classical concert experience that's been selling out across the UK, Ireland and the US arrives in Manchester with Baroque Bliss.

"Utterly Blissed Out" The Financial Times

Location:
Hallé St Peter's, 40 Blossom Street, Ancoats, Manchester M4 6BF

Built in 1859 in the heart of Ancoats, St Peter's stood silent for decades before it was lovingly restored and reopened in 2013 as a home for the Hallé orchestra. You'll be lying down in a room that was brought back to life for music.

What to expect:
This is your space to slow down and exhale at the end of a long winter month. As Catarina's voice and the cleansing vibrations of Tibetan bowls wash over you, you'll feel your breath deepen, your shoulders drop and the noise of the week fall away.

Then comes the quietest and most tender of music. Toby Carr, whose theorbo playing The Guardian has called "sensuous and vivid", fills the space with blissful, melancholic baroque melodies on the lute and deep, warm resonances on the theorbo, with Catarina's angelic voice rising gently above them. It's music that asks nothing of you, and as it holds you, you'll feel the mind quieten and the heart open.

You'll leave feeling soothed, lighter and deeply rested, carrying a sense of calm with you into the weeks ahead.

We can't wait to welcome you to this very special Lie Down and Listen.

Dates:
Friday 29th January: 3pm and 5.30pm
Saturday 30th January: 11am, 2pm and 4.30pm

Tickets:
£45 (plus £1.75 booking fee)
Includes:

  • 90mins experience
