Lie Down & Listen: Angels, Monday 18 January & Tuesday 19 January

Angels comes to the Emily Anderson Concert Hall at the University of Galway this January, led by singer and sound healer Fíona Guiheen with special guest violinist Philippa Mo.

The blissful Tibetan bowl sound healing and lying down classical concert experience that's been selling out across the UK and Ireland arrives in Galway with Angels.

"Utterly blissed Out" The Financial Times

Location:
Emily Anderson Concert Hall, The Quadrangle, University of Galway, University Road, Galway, H91 TK33

The hall sits in the university's historic Quadrangle and is named in honour of Emily Anderson, the Galway scholar who became Professor of German here at just 26 and went on to find and translate the letters of Mozart and Beethoven into English. It's a room with music woven into its very name.

Please aim to arrive about 15 minutes before your session time so you can settle in. The doors to the main space open 5 minutes before we begin.

What to expect:
This is your space to rest deeply and nourish yourself again. As the cleansing vibrations of Tibetan bowls and Fíona Guiheen's soothing vocals wash over you, you'll feel your breath slow, your body soften and the busyness of the world fall away.

Held by Philippa Mo's violin and the ethereal, sacred music of Biber and Marcus Paus's Wounded Angel pieces, you'll reconnect with your own inner, expansive world, open to the guidance, messages and gifts of your angels and protectors.

You'll leave feeling restored, lighter and deeply at peace, your energy replenished and your soul nourished for the year ahead.

We can't wait to welcome you to this very special Lie Down and Listen.

About Fíona Guiheen

Fíona Guiheen

Fíona Guiheen is an Irish singer, songwriter, sound and recording artist based in the Burren in the west of Ireland. Singing in both Irish and English, her soulful, expressive voice draws on the sounds of the Irish language, and her original songs are woven prayers, offered to bring listeners home to themselves.

With ancestral roots in the Blasket Islands, her singing is shaped by traditional unaccompanied Irish song and by the Sanskrit devotional music she encountered on her travels to India. Inspired by Irish mysticism, her music reflects a deep connection to nature and place, and a love of beauty. Fíona also leads her own ceremonial sound journeys in Ireland, weaving song, spoken word, gongs, singing bowls and crystal harp.

Philippa trained at the Royal Academy of Music, London and the Central Conservatory of Music, Beijing, and performs internationally as a chamber musician.
