Lie Down & Listen: Angels, Wednesday 13 January & Thursday 14 January

Angels comes to the beautiful St Mary's Cathedral in Limerick this January, led by singer and sound healer Fíona Guiheen with violinist Philippa Mo.

The blissful Tibetan bowl sound healing and lying down classical concert experience that's been selling out across the UK and Ireland arrives in Limerick with Angels.

"Utterly blissed Out" The Financial Times

Location:
St Mary's Cathedral, Bridge Street, Limerick, V94 E068

Founded in 1168 by Donal Mór O'Brien, the last King of Munster, on the site of his palace on King's Island, St Mary's is the oldest building in Limerick still in daily use. You'll be lying down within walls that have held more than 850 years of music and stillness.

What to expect:
Angels is a gentle, deeply restful evening of Tibetan bowl sound healing and classical music, experienced lying down within the ancient stone walls of St Mary's Cathedral. At its heart is the violin of Philippa Mo, the acclaimed violinist whose performances have taken her from Wigmore Hall to the Lincoln Center in New York, alongside singer and sound healer Fíona Guiheen, who leads the session.

Philippa's violin soars through the cathedral with the ethereal, sacred music of Biber and Marcus Paus's Wounded Angel pieces. As it washes over you, you'll feel the weight you've been carrying lift, your heart open, and a gentle connection to your own inner angel guidance.

You'll leave feeling uplifted, radiant and full of joy, carrying a deep sense of peace and possibility into the new year.

We can't wait to welcome you to this very special Lie Down and Listen.

About Fíona Guiheen

Fíona Guiheen

Fíona Guiheen is an Irish singer, songwriter, sound and recording artist based in the Burren in the west of Ireland. Singing in both Irish and English, her soulful, expressive voice draws on the sounds of the Irish language, and her original songs are woven prayers, offered to bring listeners home to themselves.

With ancestral roots in the Blasket Islands, her singing is shaped by traditional unaccompanied Irish song and by the Sanskrit devotional music she encountered on her travels to India. Inspired by Irish mysticism, her music reflects a deep connection to nature and place, and a love of beauty. Fíona also leads her own ceremonial sound journeys in Ireland, weaving song, spoken word, gongs, singing bowls and crystal harp.
